Things to ask your venue prior to booking your hair + makeup vendor.

Alright so this is a topic I wish more people talked about. It's seriously a bummer when couples are told that they have a getting ready suite in their venue but when it comes time to book you find out that you're only allowed their 2 hours prior to ceremony which leaves no time for getting ready. So let's talk about what you can ask them to prepare and have a better idea of where you want to have beauty services completed.

#1 When can we arrive on location the day of? Some venues host multiple weddings in a day and have strict timelines and only allow you to show up shortly before leaving not much time for getting ready.

#2 Do you have additional seating available?

Maybe you toured the venue and you only notices low seating. Ask your venue if they have barstools or higher chairs in advance so we know what to bring! In other cases you may only have to two chairs in your suite, but we have a lot of services so we have four artists working your wedding, check to see if you can get additional seats ahead of time.

#3 Can we get additional time in the getting ready suite if necessary? Sometimes theres a tight timeline if they host other weddings but other times you may be able to rent out the suite for longer if your best getting ready option is on location at the venue.

Asking these questions can help you figure out if the venue is your best option for getting ready or if a hotel, air bnb or your home is the best option for you! Ask questions, including to your hair and makeup team! I'm always chatting with clients about timeline and educating them on what that looks like! It's important to have plenty of time and are prepared! We are here to assist in any way possible!
